What the counts mean
Words are counted as groups of non-whitespace characters. Characters include spaces and line breaks. The tool also reports characters excluding whitespace.
Important boundaries
Word counts may differ from document editors, especially for hyphenation, punctuation and languages that do not separate words with spaces. Maximum input: 200,000 characters.
